Overview

Product and Purpose

SENTRA KBM (Camera Power Distribution Module) is a military-grade power distribution module designed for unarmoured and armoured tactical wheeled vehicles. It supplies the vehicle's multi-camera system, operator display, mission computer and seat module from a single compact unit.

On a modern tactical vehicle, feeding 360° surround cameras, night-vision and driver-assistance cameras, the operator display and the mission computer from separate power sources grows the wiring harness, multiplies failure points and complicates maintenance. SENTRA KBM distributes these loads from one point over galvanically isolated outputs. It also carries the video lines over the same harness, simplifying in-vehicle cabling.

The product is COTS (commercial off-the-shelf), aimed at rapid procurement and a long service life.

Engineering Capability

Power input and protection:

  • Input: 28 VDC military vehicle electrical system, MIL-STD-1275E compliant
  • Reverse polarity protection (reverse input) and galvanic isolation
  • Reverse polarity warning label on the power input connector

Output architecture:

OutputVoltagePower / Feature
Camera outputs12 VDCMin. 11, each isolated
Display output24 VDC ±0.2 VIsolated, min. 25 W
Computer output24 VDC ±0.2 VMin. 200 W
Seat module output24 VDC ±0.2 VSeparate isolated output
Video lines—Single harness, min. 12 × 75 Ω impedance

Connectors (MIL-DTL-38999):

InterfaceConnectorContacts
Power inputD38999/24WC4SN4 pin
Camera (×11)D38999/24WA35PN5 pin — V+, GND, video, audio, IR control
Computer interfaceD38999/24WC35SN16 pin
Power output (display, computer, seat)D38999/24WD18PA18 pin

Each camera connector carries video, audio and IR control lines together with the supply, so one connector per camera provides both power and signal.

Mechanical design:

  • ≥ IP55 rated aluminium enclosure with chromate coating
  • 4-point bolted mounting via the base flange
  • A4-70 stainless steel fasteners, corrosion protected
  • MIL-STD-130L compliant laser-marked identification plate and ESD warning label
  • Service life: ≥ 30 years (with periodic maintenance)

Environmental ruggedness (MIL-STD-810G CHG-1):

Compliance: MIL-STD-1275E (28 VDC vehicle electrical system) · MIL-STD-810G (environmental tests) · MIL-STD-461G (EMI control) · MIL-STD-464C (system EME requirements) · MIL-DTL-38999 (circular connectors) · MIL-STD-130L (product marking).

Typical Applications

  • Tactical wheeled vehicles: Supplying multi-camera and vision systems on unarmoured and armoured vehicles
  • Situational awareness: 360° camera network, night vision and driver-assistance systems
  • Mission systems: Mission computer, operator display and seat module power
  • Field operations: Uninterrupted, protected supply in harsh terrain and climate

The TEDEG Advantage

SENTRA KBM brings every supply line a vehicle vision package needs into one module: 11 isolated camera outputs, a 200 W mission computer, the display and the seat module. Carrying power, video, audio and IR control together on a single MIL-DTL-38999 connector per camera simplifies harness design for the integrator and maintenance in the field.

Configuration, pin assignments and harness interfaces are finalised through a pre-order ICD (Interface Control Document) for the customer's platform. Technical values are based on the related Technical Requirements Document (DOC-260110, Rev. 01).

Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence is an approved supplier of ASELSAN, Roketsan and the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (MSB), with NATO supplier registration under NCAGE: TM885.

Production status: The images on this page show the pre-series validation unit (S/N 001, manufactured 06/2026).

FAQ

How many cameras can SENTRA KBM supply?+

The module provides at least 11 isolated 12 VDC camera outputs. Each camera is fed through its own D38999/24WA35PN connector. This 5-pin connector carries video, audio and IR control lines alongside the supply (V+, GND).

Which loads does it supply besides cameras?+

The same unit supplies the mission computer (24 VDC ±0.2 V, min. 200 W), the operator display (24 VDC ±0.2 V, isolated, min. 25 W) and the seat module (24 VDC ±0.2 V, isolated). The display, computer and seat module outputs are grouped on the 18-pin D38999/24WD18PA power output connector.

How is it protected against vehicle electrical disturbances?+

The input is designed for the MIL-STD-1275E 28 VDC military vehicle electrical system, with reverse polarity protection and galvanic isolation. For EMI/EMC, MIL-STD-461G CE102, CS101/114/115/116, RE102 and RS103 tests are specified.

What environmental conditions does it operate in?+

Operating and storage temperature is −32 °C … +55 °C. The ≥ IP55 aluminium enclosure is specified against humidity, rain, sand-dust, salt fog, solar radiation, vibration and 20 g / 11 ms shock under MIL-STD-810G CHG-1 methods. Operating altitude is ≥ 2,500 m above sea level.

Can pin assignments and the harness be adapted to our vehicle?+

Yes. SENTRA KBM is a COTS product, but configuration, pin assignments and harness interfaces are finalised through a pre-order ICD for the customer's platform. You can request a 3D CAD / STEP file for integration work.

How is it mounted?+

The module is secured to the vehicle with 4-point bolted mounting via the base flange. Fasteners are A4-70 stainless steel. The identification plate is laser-marked to MIL-STD-130L and carries an ESD warning label.
