Overview

Product and Purpose

The PDU-RT5002 Military Power Distribution Unit is a 19-inch 4U rack solution developed by TEDEG Defence R&D for mission-critical power distribution. It serves command posts, military truck platforms, and fixed military sites by distributing energy from three sources (UPS, utility grid, generator) across ten protected outputs.

Unlike commercial PDUs, PDU-RT5002 combines military EMI/EMC compliance, environmental durability, and remote supervision in one enclosure. Integrators seeking a military power distribution unit gain NATO-aligned test heritage and series production in Türkiye.

Engineering and Technical Capability

The 10 × 25A AC/DC output configuration matches typical tactical truck architectures: eight to twelve critical loads plus two to four spare channels. Automatic source transfer (utility first, then generator) removes operator intervention during field scenarios.

MIL-STD-461F (CE102, CS101, CS114-116, RE102, RS103) ensures coexistence with onboard radar and radios; TEDEG developed a dedicated filter topology in its Ankara R&D lab. MIL-STD-810G environmental testing covers eleven methods including low pressure, low temperature, humidity, salt fog, vibration, and shock.

Ethernet-based monitoring, 100-entry logging, and granular fault modes accelerate field diagnostics. Breaker-based overcurrent and short-circuit protection isolates faults without collapsing the entire bus.

Typical Application Scenarios

PDU-RT5002 acts as the central PDU on 6×6 air-defence trucks, feeding radar, consoles, and launcher subsystems concurrently. Mobile command containers use it for seamless UPS-to-generator transitions during extended missions.

Field trials under rain, heat, and continuous vibration showed no performance degradation. The unit is equally suited to 24/7 fixed military facilities and maintenance depots requiring multi-source distribution.

Compliance Standards

  • MIL-STD-461F — EMI/EMC: CE102, CS101, CS114, CS115, CS116, RE102, RS103 tests
  • MIL-STD-810G — Environmental durability: low pressure, low temperature, contamination by fluids, solar radiation, rain, humidity, fungus, salt fog, sand and dust, vibration, shock (11 methods total)
  • NATO codification — compliant

TEDEG Advantage

TEDEG Defence moved PDU-RT5002 from concept to series production with an integrated hardware and software team. Standard lead time is 8–12 weeks, reducing programme risk versus 20+ week cycles common among global suppliers.

Domestic manufacturing offers NATO buyers supply-chain flexibility while preserving MIL-STD qualification. Customer variants (channel count, voltage, connectors) extend through modular design without lengthy re-qualification.

Validated by Turkish Defence Primes: The system is supplied as an approved vendor of ASELSAN, Roketsan and the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (MSB). Field-proven service record in tactical truck and fixed-site programmes within the Turkish Armed Forces inventory. NCAGE: TM885 with NATO supplier registration, ITAR-Free and EAR99 classification — fully open to export.

Production Maturity: The PDU-RT5002 is delivered at day-one production maturity — field-proven topology, certified component sourcing from recognised suppliers, and rapid serial-production capability. Our team carries more than a decade of R&D and production experience in the defence power-distribution segment.

FAQ

Which voltage and source configurations does PDU-RT5002 support?+

The standard configuration operates with 3× 220 VAC 50 Hz inputs (UPS / Grid / Generator). Input priority is defined as 1. mains grid, 2. generator, and the output side provides up to ten 25 A AC/DC outputs.

How does automatic source transfer (ATS) work?+

PDU-RT5002 can receive power from UPS, mains grid, and generator sources; it primarily uses the mains grid and switches to the generator when necessary. Mains voltage, current, frequency, and output voltage are recorded in a log holding the last 100 records.

Which protocols does Ethernet remote monitoring support?+

Remote monitoring and control over Ethernet is provided through a desktop PC web application. Equipment powered from the GDB output can be monitored and managed remotely, and connected systems can be switched on and off based on internal temperature data. Mains voltage, current, frequency, and output voltage are logged.

Which platforms can it be mounted on?+

PDU-RT5002 is 19-inch 4U standard rack compatible, allowing direct installation in: fixed command centres, mobile command containers, tactical truck (6×6 / 8×8) power cabinets, radar stations, air-defence systems, naval platform rack units, and military data centre cabinets. Its built-in rail allows easy mounting, movement, and maintenance in rack-type cabinets.

What is the lead time and serial production capacity?+

Standard configurations have a lead time of 8–12 weeks. Customer-specific configurations (custom channel count, voltage level, alternative connector types) require an additional 3-6 weeks of engineering. Monthly serial-production capacity scales between 20-60 units.

Which certifications does it hold?+

MIL-STD-461F (EMI/EMC), MIL-STD-810G (environmental — 11 methods), NATO codification compliance. TEDEG holds NCAGE TM885, ISO 9001, OSSA, and EYDEP certifications.
