Overview
Product and Purpose
The TDG-EDP-D0X DC Power Distribution Unit collects energy from several DC sources on a military vehicle at a single point and distributes it to the vehicle's systems with full protection. It combines four inputs — Battery 1, Battery 2, the alternator and the battery charger — on positive and negative 400 A busbars. Output lines are protected by MIDI-type fuses.
The unit contains a 500 W converter from 12 VDC to 28 VDC, so power arriving at 12 VDC can be converted to feed the 28 VDC lines. Input and load contactors, an emergency stop button and a battery isolator control when the batteries are connected to the system and when they are disconnected. Two thermostat-controlled axial fans cool the panel.
The enclosure is made from 5000-series aluminium. The panel is watertight to the MIL-STD-810G Method 506.5 Procedure I rain test. Cable entries use IP67 PG cable glands, and the cover is fitted with an EMI gasket. Four military paint options are available.

Typical Applications
- Dual-battery military vehicles: Bringing two battery banks, the alternator and the battery charger together on one busbar
- Distributing 28 VDC vehicle loads: Feeding mission equipment through 30, 60 and 100 A MIDI-fused lines
- Using 12 VDC sources: Converting 12 VDC power to the 28 VDC lines with the built-in 500 W converter
- Mounting points exposed to rain: Watertight enclosure tested to MIL-STD-810G Method 506.5
- Maintenance and emergencies: Cutting distribution quickly with the emergency stop button and battery isolator
The TEDEG Advantage
TDG-EDP-D0X brings the battery, alternator and charger connections into a single panel. Busbars, fuses, contactors and power conversion share one aluminium enclosure, so connection, protection and switching are managed from one point. Three spare MIDI fuses in each of four ratings (30 A to 200 A) make fuse replacement in the field straightforward.
Because most threshold values are adjustable, the unit can be adapted to different vehicle electrical architectures, while the control unit's switch-on voltages stay fixed. The thermostat-controlled fans only run when needed and ramp up gradually: they stop below 25 °C and reach full performance at 45 °C.
For protecting battery connections against reverse polarity see the TPB-01 Reverse Polarity Unit; for AC-side distribution see the PowerGuard AC Power Distribution Panel.
Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence is an approved supplier of ASELSAN, Roketsan and the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (MSB), with NATO supplier registration under NCAGE: TM885.

FAQ
Which power sources can be connected to the unit?+
The unit has four inputs: Battery 1, Battery 2, the alternator and the battery charger. Power from these sources is collected on (+) and (−) 400 A busbars and distributed from there to the vehicle's systems.
How are the outputs protected?+
Output lines are protected by MIDI-type fuses rated at 100 A, 60 A and 30 A @28 VDC. Spares are provided as three MIDI fuses each in 30, 60, 100 and 200 A ratings.
Can it run from a 12 VDC source?+
Yes. The built-in 12 VDC → 28 VDC, 500 W converter turns incoming 12 VDC power into 28 VDC. The converter starts above 12.5 VDC and stops below 12 VDC. The control unit switches on when the vehicle battery rises above 11.5 VDC or 21 VDC.
What happens when battery voltage drops or in an emergency?+
The input contactor opens below 21 VDC, disconnecting the batteries and the load contactor from the system, and closes again once the voltage rises above 21.5 VDC. Pressing the emergency stop disconnects both the input and the load contactor. All thresholds apart from the control unit's switch-on voltages can be adjusted, and a bypass switch inside the panel overrides these values.
What environmental conditions can it withstand?+
The unit operates from −32 °C to +52 °C. Its enclosure is watertight to MIL-STD-810G, Method 506.5, Procedure I, verified with a 30-minute rain test. Cable entries use IP67 PG cable glands and the cover has an EMI gasket. When the temperature reaches 30 °C, the thermostat brings the two axial fans in gradually.
