Overview

Product and Purpose

The PowerGuard AC Power Distribution Panel (TDG-EDP-0XX) is a military-grade AC distribution panel that takes power from a 400 VAC input and distributes it to connected units in a protected, controlled way. Outputs are provided at 400 VAC and 230 VAC, so three-phase and single-phase loads can be fed from the same panel.

Power from the input line passes through switching elements and overcurrent protection devices as required before reaching the output connectors. Every power output has its own circuit breaker rated for the current of that line. These breakers protect the line against overcurrent and let the operator switch the connected unit on and off by hand. Selected outputs can also be controlled with a 28 VDC or 230 VAC remote on/off signal.

The panel is built from 5000-series aluminium. Bonding between cover and enclosure, together with the EMI gasket on the cover, provides both electromagnetic protection and sealing. The number of outputs, current ratings and protection devices are specified to the customer's requirements.

Panel types and part number:

The datasheet gives separate wiring and external connection diagrams for two panel types: ED0 and EDX, which has more output lines. The part number takes the form TDG-EDP-0XX: the first two digits give the panel type (00 for ED0, 01 for the other types) and the last digit gives the paint colour:

CodePaint
0Military green, Green 383 (FED-STD-595B 34094)
1Tan 686A (FED-STD-595B 33446)
2Earth Yellow (FED-STD-595B 33245)

Typical Applications

  • Load distribution at military facilities: Distributing a 400 VAC three-phase supply to connected equipment with full protection
  • Mixed load groups: Feeding three-phase loads such as air conditioning alongside single-phase loads such as cameras and UPS units from one panel
  • Remote power management: Switching selected outputs on and off centrally with a 28 VDC or 230 VAC signal
  • High-altitude sites: Operation up to 3000 m
  • Cold and hot climates: −32 °C … +50 °C operating range

The TEDEG Advantage

Giving every output its own breaker separates protection and control line by line: overcurrent protection is handled per line, and during maintenance or a fault the operator can cut power to the affected unit alone. The remote on/off input lets the same outputs be controlled from the system's control side.

Each panel is configured to the customer: the number of outputs, the current rating of each output, and which lines use switching or overcurrent protection devices are set for the project. The lockable cover, EMI gasket and aluminium enclosure protect against unauthorised access and electromagnetic interference.

For 220 VAC mains/generator selectable distribution see the PowerGuard MAR-2 Power Distribution Panel; for the vehicle DC side see the TDG-EDP-D0X DC Power Distribution Unit.

Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence is an approved supplier of ASELSAN, Roketsan and the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (MSB), with NATO supplier registration under NCAGE: TM885.

FAQ

Which voltages does the panel work with?+

The input voltage is 400 VAC. Outputs are provided at 400 VAC and 230 VAC, so three-phase and single-phase loads can be fed from the same panel. The remote on/off signal can be 28 VDC or 230 VAC.

How are the outputs protected and controlled?+

Every power output has its own circuit breaker rated for the line's current. The breaker protects the line against overcurrent and lets the operator switch the connected unit on and off by hand. Switching elements are used on the lines that need them, and these outputs are controlled by the remote on/off signal.

Can the number of outputs and the configuration be changed?+

Yes. Power is distributed to output lines defined by the customer's requirements. The datasheet provides diagrams for two panel types, ED0 and EDX. The part number TDG-EDP-0XX is built from the panel type and one of three paint options (military green, tan or earth yellow).

What environmental conditions does it operate in?+

The panel operates from −32 °C to +50 °C and can be stored from −32 °C to +60 °C. Its operating altitude is 0–3000 m. The enclosure is built from 5000-series aluminium, and the EMI gasket on the cover provides electromagnetic protection and sealing.

What indicators and controls are on the front panel?+

The front panel has a lockable cover, 3 phase indicator lamps (one for each phase) and a separate breaker for every output. The wiring diagram also includes an input breaker, a power analyser and a surge arrester.
