Planning Engineer

The Role

At TEDEG Defence, planning means connecting the project schedule to reality on the production floor, making sure the right material is at the right station at the right time, and managing delivery dates with data.

We are looking for a team member who does not just prepare the plan but is the first to spot a deviation, finds its cause and works with the relevant team to resolve it.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in particular, or mechanical, electrical-electronics or a related engineering field
• At least 2 years of experience in production planning, material requirements planning (MRP) or project planning
• Hands-on experience with the production planning, work order and inventory modules of ERP systems
• Solid understanding of bills of materials (BOM), routings and capacity planning
• Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with MS Project or similar planning tools preferred
• Experience in an environment producing electronic boards, cable harnesses or electromechanical assemblies preferred
• Experience with revision and configuration control on defence industry projects preferred
• Data-driven, analytical and able to anticipate bottlenecks
• Strong planning, organisation and communication skills; comfortable coordinating across departments
• Basic English
• Military service completed, exempt or deferred for male candidates

Job Description

• Turn project delivery schedules into a production plan; prepare weekly and monthly production programmes
• Run material requirements planning (MRP) in the ERP and share shortage lists with the purchasing team
• Open work orders and keep bills of materials and routings accurate and up to date in the ERP
• Plan production capacity (staff, assembly stations, test equipment) and manage bottlenecks
• Monitor stock levels and propose safety stock for critical and long-lead-time materials
• Coordinate daily with production, purchasing, quality and project teams
• Compare planned and actual output, report deviations and follow up corrective actions
• Report on delivery performance, production performance and inventory indicators
• Make sure revision and configuration changes are reflected in the production plan on time
