Overview

Product and Purpose

TDG-CAM-202 is a 1080P HD vehicle camera in a compact dome housing, built for in-vehicle and exterior monitoring. Its 150° or 170° super-wide lens covers a whole compartment or vehicle corner from one mounting point, and six infrared LEDs provide Smart-IR night vision up to 8 metres.

The camera switches between colour and infrared automatically under sensor control, records audio through a built-in microphone and offers mirror / normal image selection. The dome housing is rated IP69K, withstands 5.9G vibration and operates from −32 °C to +70 °C.

Typical Applications

  • Crew and troop compartment monitoring in armoured and tactical vehicles, including in darkness
  • Cargo and equipment area monitoring on logistics and special-purpose vehicles
  • Exterior corner and side views where a low-profile dome housing is preferred
  • Audio and video recording of the compartment with the built-in microphone

The TEDEG Advantage

TDG-CAM-202 runs on 12 VDC. On military vehicles with a 24 / 28 VDC electrical system, TEDEG supplies the cameras together with the SENTRA KBM Camera Power Distribution Module, which provides 11 galvanically isolated 12 VDC camera outputs from a MIL-STD-1275E 28 VDC input and carries the video lines on the same harness. Cameras, camera power and vehicle power distribution therefore come from a single supplier, with one point of contact for integration.

Connector type, cable length and mounting are matched to the platform during the project, and TEDEG's engineering team supports system integration and acceptance testing.

Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence holds NATO supplier registration NCAGE TM885 and operates an ISO 9001 quality management system.

FAQ

Where is a dome camera used on a vehicle?+

The dome housing suits ceiling and body mounting: crew and troop compartments, cargo areas and vehicle corners. With a 150° or 170° lens, one camera covers a whole compartment.

How far does the night vision reach?+

Six infrared LEDs give Smart-IR night vision up to 8 metres. Colour / IR switching is automatic and sensor-controlled, and the image remains available down to 0 lux with the IR on.

Does it record audio?+

Yes. TDG-CAM-202 has a built-in microphone for audio recording.

How is it powered on a 24 / 28 VDC vehicle?+

The camera is supplied from 12 VDC (max. 220 mA). On 24 / 28 VDC vehicles it is powered through a 12 VDC camera supply such as the SENTRA KBM, which feeds up to 11 cameras from isolated outputs.

What environmental conditions is it rated for?+

IP69K water and dust protection, 5.9G vibration resistance and an operating range of −32 °C to +70 °C at up to 95% relative humidity.
