Overview

Product and Purpose

TDG-CAM-201 is a 1080P HD vehicle camera with long-range Smart-IR night vision. Four infrared LEDs illuminate the scene up to 15 metres, and the camera switches between colour and infrared automatically (ICR) as light falls. A built-in microphone, mirror / normal image selection and a choice of 110° or 130° lenses make it a general-purpose exterior camera for professional and military vehicles.

The housing is rated IP69K against water and dust, withstands 5.9G vibration and operates from −32 °C to +70 °C. The camera is FCC and E-Mark certified.

Typical Applications

  • Driving and blind-spot views on tactical wheeled vehicles, military trucks and special-purpose vehicles
  • Rear view and reversing in low light, with infrared illumination up to 15 m
  • Patrol and border-security vehicles that operate at night
  • Exterior monitoring of loading areas, tow points and equipment on engineering and recovery vehicles

The TEDEG Advantage

TDG-CAM-201 runs on 12 VDC. On military vehicles with a 24 / 28 VDC electrical system, TEDEG supplies the cameras together with the SENTRA KBM Camera Power Distribution Module, which provides 11 galvanically isolated 12 VDC camera outputs from a MIL-STD-1275E 28 VDC input and carries the video lines on the same harness. Cameras, camera power and vehicle power distribution therefore come from a single supplier, with one point of contact for integration.

Connector type, cable length and mounting bracket are matched to the platform during the project, and TEDEG's engineering team supports system integration and acceptance testing.

Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence holds NATO supplier registration NCAGE TM885 and operates an ISO 9001 quality management system.

FAQ

How far can TDG-CAM-201 see at night?+

Four infrared LEDs give a night-vision range of up to 15 metres. When light falls, the camera switches automatically from colour to infrared (ICR) and produces an image down to 0 lux with the IR on.

Can it be used on a 24 / 28 VDC military vehicle?+

The camera itself is supplied from 12 VDC (max. 220 mA). On 24 / 28 VDC vehicles it is powered through a 12 VDC camera supply such as the SENTRA KBM, which feeds up to 11 cameras from isolated outputs.

Which lens options are available?+

Two lens options: f = 3.6 mm (110°) and f = 2.8 mm (130°). The narrower lens suits longer-range forward and rear views; the wider lens covers more of the area around the vehicle.

Does it record audio?+

Yes. The camera has a built-in microphone for audio recording alongside the video.

What environmental conditions is it rated for?+

IP69K water and dust protection, 5.9G vibration resistance and an operating range of −32 °C to +70 °C at up to 95% relative humidity.

Can the cable and connector be adapted to our vehicle?+

Yes. Connector, cable length and mounting interface can be adapted to project requirements; the standard camera uses a 4-pin connection.
