Overview
Product and Purpose
TDG-CAM-204 is a VNIR starlight AHD rear-view camera for heavy-duty vehicles. Its large 1/1.9" CMOS (IMX385) sensor delivers colour images down to 0.1 millilux (0.0001 lux), so the driver keeps a usable colour picture at night when a standard camera would show only noise. Local tone mapping (LTM) and 3D noise reduction keep detail in dark and bright parts of the scene.
The camera sits in an IP69K alloy housing rated for 8G vibration and 100G shock, with a 120° field of view, mirror function and a waterproof circular connector. It operates from −32 °C to +70 °C and can be stored from −40 °C to +85 °C. Infrared illumination is available with manual control.

Typical Applications
- Rear view and reversing of military trucks, tactical wheeled vehicles and heavy-duty special vehicles
- Night driving and manoeuvring where colour detail matters in very low light
- Engineering, recovery and logistics vehicles working in dust, rain and high-pressure washing
- Convoy and yard operations that continue after dark
The TEDEG Advantage
TDG-CAM-204 runs on 12 VDC. On military vehicles with a 24 / 28 VDC electrical system, TEDEG supplies the cameras together with the SENTRA KBM Camera Power Distribution Module, which provides 11 galvanically isolated 12 VDC camera outputs from a MIL-STD-1275E 28 VDC input and carries the video lines on the same harness. Cameras, camera power and vehicle power distribution therefore come from a single supplier, with one point of contact for integration.
Connector type, cable length and mounting are matched to the platform during the project, and TEDEG's engineering team supports system integration and acceptance testing.
Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence holds NATO supplier registration NCAGE TM885 and operates an ISO 9001 quality management system.

FAQ
What does "starlight" mean for this camera?+
The 1/1.9" IMX385 sensor keeps producing a colour image down to 0.1 millilux (0.0001 lux). In practice this means a usable colour rear view under starlight or very weak ambient light, without relying only on infrared.
Which video signal does it output?+
1080P AHD, with PAL / NTSC signal systems. It connects through a waterproof circular connector.
How rugged is the housing?+
The alloy housing is rated IP69K for water and dust and for 8G vibration / 100G shock, which suits heavy-duty vehicles and high-pressure washing.
Does it have infrared illumination?+
Yes. Infrared night illumination is available and is controlled manually, so it can be switched off when the starlight colour image is sufficient.
How is it powered on a 24 / 28 VDC vehicle?+
The camera draws about 100 mA at 12 VDC. On 24 / 28 VDC vehicles it is powered through a 12 VDC camera supply such as the SENTRA KBM, which feeds up to 11 cameras from isolated outputs.
What temperatures can it handle?+
It operates from −32 °C to +70 °C and can be stored from −40 °C to +85 °C.
