Overview

Product and Purpose

TDG-DSP-101 is a 10.1-inch rugged vehicle display for monitoring camera, mission-computer and sensor video in military and heavy-duty vehicles. Its 1920 × 1200 WUXGA ADS-type TFT-LCD panel delivers 600 cd/m² behind a 3 mm tempered anti-glare cover glass, so the picture stays readable in direct sunlight.

Its projected-capacitive (PCAP) multi-touch surface works as a driverless USB HID device, so maps, mission software and camera views are controlled directly on the screen with a gloved hand. An 85° viewing angle in every direction and a 900:1 contrast ratio keep the image legible from the driver and commander positions. The front OSD keypad gives menu, source selection and auto-adjust without opening any cover; front and rear USB ports add flexibility in the field, and the built-in 2 × 2 W stereo speakers reproduce audio received over HDMI without any external device.

The aluminium housing, military-type circular connectors and the wide 9–36 VDC supply range connect the unit directly to 12 / 24 VDC vehicle electrical systems. It suits tactical vehicles, armoured platforms, command-and-control cabins and mobile systems; on a surround-view installation it serves as the operator screen for the vehicle cameras.

Further options: AR coating (< 0.5% reflection), conformal coating for marine and salt environments, sun shroud, yoke / console mounting bracket, 2.5 m or 4.5 m IP67 harness, and 12.1" and 15.6" family members. All options are specified at order. Display panel values are per the panel manufacturer specification; connector types, additional video inputs and the mounting interface can be adapted to project requirements.

Typical Applications

  • Tactical and armoured vehicles: driver vision, rear view and 360° camera monitoring
  • Command-and-control cabins: mission computer and map display
  • Weapon and sensor systems: operator display
  • Mobile and field systems: sunlight-readable industrial display

The TEDEG Advantage

TDG-DSP-101 completes the vehicle vision chain that TEDEG supplies from a single source: the TDG-CAM vehicle cameras capture the picture, the SENTRA KBM Camera Power Distribution Module powers them from the 28 VDC vehicle network and collects the video lines, and the display shows the result at the crew position. Because the display accepts 9–36 VDC directly, it needs no separate converter on 12 or 24 VDC vehicles.

The standard unit covers most installations; optical bonding, NVIS, 1,000 cd/m², multi-video input, extended temperature, CAN-Bus / RS-485 control and MIL-STD-1275E input-stage variants are available as order codes. Connector types, video inputs and the mounting interface are fixed with you in a pre-order interface control document, and TEDEG's engineering team supports integration and acceptance testing on the platform.

Corporate assurance: TEDEG Defence holds NATO supplier registration NCAGE TM885 and operates an ISO 9001 quality management system.

FAQ

Is the display readable in direct sunlight?+

The standard panel delivers 600 cd/m² behind an anti-glare tempered glass, which is readable in daylight; the TDG-DSP-101-H variant raises the backlight to 1,000 cd/m² for direct sunlight. An optional AR coating reduces reflection below 0.5%.

Which video sources can it show?+

The standard unit has one HDMI input on a MIL-DTL-38999 Series III type circular connector. The -V variant adds two CVBS analogue camera inputs and DVI / VGA, with source selection and picture-in-picture from the OSD keypad.

Is the screen touch-operated?+

Yes, as standard. The projected-capacitive (PCAP) 10-point multi-touch panel works with a gloved hand and appears to the computer as a driverless USB HID device over the USB connection. The front OSD keypad remains for menu, source selection and brightness; the -B variant adds optical bonding (no air gap between glass and panel) for higher contrast and better condensation and vibration resistance.

Can it be used with night-vision goggles?+

The -N variant has a dual-mode backlight compatible with MIL-STD-3009 NVIS Type I Class B, with day and night modes.

How is it powered on a 12 or 24 VDC vehicle?+

The input accepts 9–36 VDC directly, with reverse-polarity, over-voltage and transient protection, and draws no more than 20 W at full brightness. For platforms that require a MIL-STD-1275E input stage, the -R variant adds spike and surge suppression.

How is it mounted?+

Through the rear-panel screw holes; a VESA 75 or yoke / console bracket, a sun shroud and a 2.5 m or 4.5 m IP67 harness are available as options. The housing is aluminium, matt black RAL 9005, with an IP65 front face.

Which standards is it designed to?+

The datasheet states a design basis of MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration and MIL-STD-461G EMI/EMC; the NVIS variant follows MIL-STD-3009 and the military-power variant MIL-STD-1275E. These are design references, not test reports. If your programme requires qualification, the test plan and report scope are agreed with you at the quotation stage.
